What is aluminum extrusion?
Aluminum extrusion is a process in which aluminum ingots are heated and pushed through a designed die opening. It creates the desired cross-section that can be modified with different dies. The extrusion of aluminum can also increase its strength.
Benefits from aluminum extrusion
-
High specific strength
Aluminum extrusions have great strength, but it is about one-third the weight of steel or brass. -
Corrosion resistance
The surface of aluminum extrusions is protected from corrosion by a naturally occurring oxide film. -
Low cost
The materials and dies have lower costs compared to other metal forming production. -
Sustainable
The aluminum profile can be recycled indefinitely, and the recycled profile can completely maintain functionality and appearance.
